Garbage & Recycling
Correct and courteous garbage disposal is important at our complex.
Garbage is collected on Mondays & Fridays.
The strata council has recently arranged multiple additional collections due to untidy resident behaviours, mostly due to unintended lapses of judgement. This takes up valuable strata council time and costs thousands of dollars for owners.
Please help by following these steps!
-
Household Garbage: Place in the large dumpster condensing items to avoid overfilling. Do not leave items on the ground as waste management will not pick up and this attracts pests.
-
Cardboard: Flatten and break down all cardboard so that items will lay flat before placing in the large slot-loaded dedicated green cardboard bin.
-
Recycling Containers & Glass: Please follow the posters posted advising which bin to use for each type of waste. We have recently increased glass bin capacity (between the cardboard and household garbage bins) so please do not leave jars on the ground. Bins are chained together. Please close lids to avoid pests.
-
Green Waste: There is a dedicated bin for these items, please do not contaminate.
If you see that the bins are full or there are other issues, please hold onto your items until they have been emptied and contact property management.
Garbage areas are being monitored and residents found improperly disposing may be subject to a fine and a written compliance notice. See bylaws for full details.
Binners' Project Hook: Please see this link for more information on the project. There is a single hook indicated by a green shopping cart logo adjacent to our garbage collection area next to the green waste bin. If residents participate ensure awareness of this program. If items are not collected within 24 hours the individual resident is responsible for placing items in their respective bin to avoid illegal dumping in our rear alleyway.
